THE STORY BEHIND THIS BOWL

Some pieces begin as wood.

Others begin as a story.

This unique bowl was handcrafted from exceptional Austrian walnut burl wood sourced from the Schloss Salaberg area in Lower Austria, approximately 100 meters from the renowned wildlife park.

For decades, the walnut tree grew through changing seasons, developing intricate grain formations hidden deep within the root structure. These remarkable patterns remained concealed until the wood was carefully selected and transformed by hand in my workshop near Linz, Austria.

The dramatic grain movement, natural bark inclusion, and organic contours create a visual character that cannot be replicated.

No machine, template, or production process could ever produce another bowl exactly like this one.

Within Austrian Timber Bowl, only a select number of works are chosen for the Masterpieces Collection.

This bowl earned its place through its exceptional walnut burl figure, preserved natural edge, documented origin, and unmistakable character.
